After being arrested for constantly assaulting his ex-wife, Pilot Captain was told he only had three more flights left before he would be relieved of service. It is because of this he has decided to fake his own death and then train again as a new pilot under the alias 'Dermit McDunk', not because he enjoys flying in the slightest but because he wants to perfect his flying abilities for the terrorist attack of the century.
It is revealed in the pilot that Pilot Captain uses drugs, this was actually a big issue for him in the white house when he accidentally sold President Bush cocaine, instead of his favorite presidential heroin.
